Kawartha Ethanol Inc. is a state-of-the-art Ethanol Production facility located in Havelock, Ontario. We currently have the opportunity for the following position:

Maintenance Technician – Millwright

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the successful candidate will join an existing Maintenance team and offer support for day-to-day mechanical requirements. Due to 24/hr operations, “Call Ins” will be expected. The position is a Monday to Friday day shift based on a 40 hour work week.

Responsibilities / Expectations

Successful candidate may possess the following: 

  • Possess an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • C of Q as an Industrial Millwright, Heavy Equipment Mechanic or equivalent
  • Millwright experience > 5 years
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as a group in a safety-oriented environment

Skills listed below would be an asset:

  • Experience with completing PM, PDM and emergency machine repair.
  • Strong Mechanical skills and the ability to follow & understand process flow.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Familiar with safe rigging and hoisting practices
  • Basic welding skills
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities or malfunctions
  • Assembly and adjustment of machinery and equipment
  • Responsible for start-up and testing of new and repaired machinery
  • Repairs to pumps, bearings, seals and packing
  • Communicate material and inventory requirements to maintenance buyer or supervisor
  • Perform regular housekeeping duties
  • Must comply with assigned objectives, priorities
  • Willing to be available afterhours including weekends as part of our breakdown response mandate
  • Ability to read & understand Electrical Schematics and P&ID drawings.
